Hi,
It looks like the dependencies are slightly different from upstream: https://github.com/laramies/theHarvester/blob/master/requirements/base.txt
Also, could you specify the version dependencies like this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PKGBUILD#depends
Thank you

Ran 0 tests in 0.000s
NO TESTS RAN
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in check().
Aborting...
I had to comment out the check() in the PKGBUILD file to install it. Didn't find any documentation about how check will fail, while Gemini said if there's no tests found it fails.

Due to upstream commit
bbe3f02a079a58a029c800f9f42abfae8b59c70d
,test_qwantsearch.py
has been removed which is causing a build to fail as there is arm
command in the prepare statement.qdii commented on 2022-11-12 11:05 (UTC)
I think this is missing the runtime dependency of
python-ujson

@aminvakil, the package has now been updated and the problems I pointed our earlier should be fixed. I tested that it works for me.
If you find other problems, please give me a ping.

@aminvakil, yes, thanks for reminding me.
I ended up submitting a request to merge and orphan the packages, but there was a problem with one of the dependencies that prevented me from making the changes. I decided to wait a bit, but then it slipped from my mind.
I'll try to get to it over the weekend.

@dkasak, You are absolutely right, are you willing to fix it then?

Judging by theHarvester's
requirements.txt
(https://github.com/laramies/theHarvester/blob/master/requirements/base.txt), the following dependencies seem to be superfluous:python-censys python-decorator python-grequests python-multiprocess python-pyaml python-pycares python-pytest
Note that
python-pyaml
(pyaml
on PyPI) is incorrect and the actual dependency should bepython-yaml
(PyYAML
on PyPI). It's hard to notice because the packages are confusingly named. Also, any idea why python-theharvester-git also exists? I asked there but there's no response so far.

The following patch makes this package build for me and it appears to work (I tested several sources): https://gist.github.com/dkasak/0c6018e386b047a5a369850e3d3900be
As mentioned in the commit message, this fixes the dependency list to match upstream's requirements.txt, moves the
api-keys.yaml
location to/etc/theHarvester
and lists all APIs that require keys in the post-install message.dkasak commented on 2020-09-12 12:34 (UTC) (edited on 2020-09-12 13:56 (UTC) by dkasak)
What is the difference between this package and
theharvester-git
?Also, this package is missing at least
python-aiohttp
as a dependency.1 2 3 4 Next › Last »
