libgpod is still missing from the build dependencies.

This should be -git package.

I received an error: openmedia.h:28:10: fatal error: gpod/itdb.h: No such file or directory when trying to build the package.

The issue was resolved by installing libgpod from the repository. Since the package won't build without it, it should probably be added to the deps list?
