In TBSync v0.7.10 it was added an upgrade addon feature to the extension. The feature is called side-channel-updater.
The side-channel-updater feature works very well and you can easily update the extension from Thunderbird. With this upgrade feature, it doesn't make sense to keep this package updated. I will keep for a month updating the package. After that time I will either disown the package or request delete it.
