Hello,
I've successfully installed Tile Racer today using a modified PKGBUILD. The PKGBUILD is:
# Maintainer: Ashley Whetter <(firstname) @ awhetter.co.uk>
# Contributor: Patrik Ilg <p.ilg@arcor.de>

pkgname=tileracer
pkgver=0.702
pkgdesc="3D stunt racing game which features realistic car physics and an in game track editor"
pkgrel=3
arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
url="http://tileracer.model-view.com"
license=('None')
depends_x86_64=('lib32-libgl' 'lib32-mesa' 'lib32-libxmu')
depends_i686=('libgl' 'mesa' 'libxmu')
conflicts=('physx' 'lib32-physx')

package()
{
cd "$srcdir/"

install -d "$pkgdir/usr/share/applications"
install -m655 "$srcdir/TileRacer.desktop" "$pkgdir/usr/share/applications/"
install -d "$pkgdir/usr/share/${pkgname}"

tar xzvf TileRacer${pkgver}.tar.gz -C "$pkgdir/usr/share/${pkgname}"
chown -Rh root:root $pkgdir/usr/share/${pkgname}

install -d $pkgdir/usr/bin
echo \#\!/bin/sh > $pkgdir/usr/bin/tileracer
echo /usr/share/tileracer/TileRacer.sh >> $pkgdir/usr/bin/tileracer
chmod +x $pkgdir/usr/bin/tileracer
}

Cheers

Hello,
I've sought today for the location of the files and I found out with archive.org that the original repository is still online (but currently not correctly linked on the website) at http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39136013/TileRacer0.702.tar.gz .
Cheers

This is happening because the downloads are down. I don't think they're coming back as the forums don't work either. I'll have to try and find a mirror.

~ ⮀ ls -l /usr/share/applications/TileRacer.desktop
-rw------- 1 root root 246 јун 21 20:43 /usr/share/applications/TileRacer.desktop

I guess the problem is with my umask and with PKGBUILD using "cp" to install TileRacer.desktop. It would be better if you installed it with "install -m644 ..."

After installing
lib32-xlib
lib32-libxmu
lib32-libxrandr

I got the following when running:
Parsing scripts for resource group Autodetect
Finished parsing scripts for resource group Autodetect
Parsing scripts for resource group Bootstrap
Parsing script OgreCore.material
Parsing script OgreProfiler.material
Parsing script Ogre.fontdef
Parsing script OgreDebugPanel.overlay
/usr/share/tileracer/TileRacer.sh: line 15: 14714 Segmentation fault ./TileRacer

As for hardware, it's an x220 laptop with a 64 bit Intel Sandy Bridge processor and Intel HD3000 graphics.

@DarwinSurvivor Does libz.so.1 exist in /usr/lib32? If not try installing lib32-zlib and if that works then let me know and I'll add it as a dependency.

DarwinSurvivor commented on 2012-02-22 08:00

Still not working after enabling multi-lib (though it did install)

./TileRacer: error while loading shared libraries: libz.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I checked and /usr/lib/libz.so.1 is a symlink to /usr/lib/libz.so.1.2.6 which also exists.
