Did you mean to leave that comment on the gtk2 package? I only maintain tilp and the related libti* libraries, if there’s an issue with the gtk2 package that’s something the maintainer of that package will have to fix.

I believe the issue most find with installing this package is due to the deprecation of the python distutils module. Given that Python no longer contain distutils since Python 2.12, glk2 - and by connection - tilp is unable to build.

VorpalGun, have you already tried adding it yourself and checked that the program works properly when you build it like that? I can certainly add it to the PKGBUILD, but I’d like to have confirmation that it actually works before adding it. (Not that pentium4 is particularly exotic, but better safe than sorry)

Firstly, sorry for the delay. I tried to figure out why the package wants libarchive.la but I still didn’t find anything. @nmaggioni, you mentioned that you solved the problem by building the packages manually with makepkg. Could you let me know how you tried to build the package before that? Also, did you experience any problems with libtifiles, since that is the only TI package that requires libarchive directly?

I solved the compilation error by manually makepkg'ing the [libticalcs](http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libticalcs) package and its dependencies, and then manually installing TiLP. The error itself is caused by the missing `/usr/lib/libarchive.la` file, as confirmed by [its package contents](https://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/libarchive/files/). By building the dependencies separatedly I guess that the environment pointed autoconf to the right library file.

autoconf is part of base-devel and thus expected to be present at buildtime, just like other basic tools such as gcc or pkg-config. @Ketchup901 I’m sorry that I still haven’t gotten around to your error message. The message seems rather weird to say the least and I’ll have to experiment a little to figure out what might be going wrong.

This needs autoconf as a dependency. Thanks for making this package, by the way.
