I'm having an issue where Timeshift does not see my previous backup folder.. I'm backing up to the second partition on a USB stick, where the 1st partition is a backup for another computer.

When I open timeshift, it does mount the correct partition on '/run/timeshift/backup', but it does not show the previous backups I've made for my pc. I'm using rsync with ext4 partitions. Is there an issue with using multiple partitions on a USB stick?

Timeshift is a great tool which hopefully someday will shift to the community repo.

How to I downgrade and exclude the path? Thanks!

And downgrading dhcpcd to version 8.1.7-1? Both this and the exclusion of /var/lib/dhcpcd ('/var/lib/dhcpcd/***' in Timeshift) worked for me.

Excluding /var/lib/dhcpcd does not work for me...

There is a solution: The problem seems to be with dhcpcd version 9.x.

I have tried to downgrade to the previous version of Timeshift. This does not solve the problem mentioned by tkwilson.

JimDeadlock commented on 2020-04-28 15:05

I have the same problem as tkwilson, and also the "Not enough disk space" error in the GUI described here:

I think it's related to the v20.03 timeshift update rather than the kernel.

tkwilson commented on 2020-04-27 13:38

At least since the 5.6.6 kernel update (first I noticed it), Timeshift has not been finishing the snapshot. The rsync process remains active consuming 100% of a CPU core. When trying to open the Timeshift GUI, I get "Schedule snapshot in progress... Another instance of Timeshift is creating a snapshot. Please wait a few minutes and try again." It's been 9.5 hours.

During last update I got:

error fetching timeshift: fatal: not a git repository (or any parent up to mount point /) Stopping at filesystem boundary (GIT_DISCOVERY_ACROSS_FILESYSTEM not set).

My understanding I need to init git repo first? But can't figure our where it should be.
