@damiandiaz: Couldn't reproduce the issue. makepkg works fine. I'd look into the "Read-only file system" as the reason it failed. Try setting BUILDDIR=/tmp/makepkg in /etc/makepkg.conf or use pacaur to install tixati.

Hello, I had a problem to makepkg tixati => Validating source files with sha1sums... LICENSE ... Passed ==> Validating source_x86_64 files with sha1sums... tixati-2.34-1.x86_64.manualinstall.tar.gz ... Passed ==> Extracting sources... ln: failed to create symbolic link '/home/damian/Downloads/Install/tixati/src/LICENSE': Read-only file system ln: failed to create symbolic link '/home/damian/Downloads/Install/tixati/src/tixati-2.34-1.x86_64.manualinstall.tar.gz': Read-only file system ==> Removing existing $pkgdir/ directory... ==> Entering fakeroot environment... ==> Starting package()... install: cannot stat '../LICENSE': No such file or directory ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package(). Aborting... The tixati directory has all permissions chmod 775. Any idea about how to solve this problem. Thanks.

@yudha You can run makepkg -si to build install it. Or, you can run pacman -U <name_of_pkg_file_after_it_was_build.tar.xz>.

Sry, I'm newbie for using linux, what do you mean abut "enter makepkg and then install the created package with pacman -U file"?

goll commented on 2015-11-28 06:38 (UTC)

@yudha: the -S is the same as --source which does the following "Do not actually build the package, but build a source-only tarball that does not include sources that can be fetched via a download URL." If you want to install the package just enter makepkg and then install the created package with pacman -U file, or better yet, install an AUR helper like pacaur and just enter pacaur -S tixati.
