My involvement in this only goes as far as creating a source package - i moved the original toggldesktop to toggldesktop-bin and handed back to the original maintainer, hence I don't really know how different the two packages are. This one stripts out a heap of un-needed libraries to depend on the official ones (eg. qt5 libs) which may or may not be a good thing.

Well actually I don’t use this package at all, I was waiting for either your or claudiodangelis answers on the differences of the two packages before doing the merge (I’m a TU). So I’d like to see this package being updated to use the proper source if that’s relevant (I don’t know about the differences between the two of them), then I’ll merge toggl-bin into this one.

Ah I see, fair enough. At the moment I'm only maintaining the source package, though so can't actually help much. Yeah hopefully toggl-bin and this will get merged since they're installing basically the same thing.

No, I’m talking of the linux (so non debian specific) prebuilt tarball. For instance, current release: – Linux Build: https://github.com/toggl/toggldesktop/releases/download/v7.4.18/toggldesktop_linux_x86_64-7_4_18.tar.gz – Source: https://github.com/toggl/toggldesktop/archive/v7.4.18.tar.gz – Deb: https://github.com/toggl/toggldesktop/releases/download/v7.4.18/toggldesktop_7.4.18_amd64.deb https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/toggl-bin, which might be merged into this package, is building from the Linux Build rather than the .deb file.

@ArchangeGabriel this installs directly from the released pre-built binary. If you want to install from source (the tar.gz), please use the 'toggldesktop' package on the aur.

Why from the .deb rather than the toggldesktop_linux_x86_64-$pkgver.tar.gz ?

@claudiodangelis: This seems redundant with https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/toggldesktop-bin/. Would you accept this package to be merged in toggldesktop-bin?

This is pretty much the same as the original toggldesktop package, but moved here since it installs from the pre-built .deb download, rather than from source. The toggldesktop package now builds directly from source.

Hi, actual release depends on "gstreamer0.10-base-plugins", to be specific: "/opt/toggldesktop/TogglDesktop: error while loading shared libraries: libgstapp-0.10.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
