No the solution in the end was to run the binary directly and not the script. at least on my system the LD_PRELOAD loaded the wrong version of curl.

Hi. Thanks for the note. If I understand the thread correctly, the solution in the thread is actually what this package provides. Running the binary directly does not work on Arch. Hence, the shell script is provided. This script is also executed when running Waveform via your desktop environment. I assume you tried running it on the commandline?
