../sconstruct_tranches.diff works, $srcdir/sconstruct_tranches.diff is probably even better (updated without version bump).

If you use another BUILDDIR, the diff-file will not be found under ../../sconstruct_tranches.diff but rather under ../sconstruct_tranches.diff.
May this also work for you?
