Hello! I am stepping down from maintaining this package! Feel free to grab ownership if you are willing to maintain it! Thank you!

Thanks @iwanb.

I asked the Transcribe author to add the version number to the tar URL, could you change the source so the package keeps working even if it's updated upstream? https://www.seventhstring.com/xscribe/downlo/xscsetup-9.00.0.tar.gz

Thanks, it installed cleanly after the fix.

Thank you! This usually means that transcribe was updated. The problem is that the authors only provide a single download link. So when they update the binary, the check sums don't match anymore which leads to your described problem. Also, you may want to ensure that you perform a clean build in that you redownload the binary from the server! Best, Dominik.

There seems to be a validation issue:

stefano@gorgias transcribe $ makepkg 0i ==> Making package: transcribe 8.75.2-1 (Mon 23 Nov 2020 10:41:17 PM CST) ==> Checking runtime dependencies... ==> Checking buildtime dependencies... ==> Retrieving sources... -> Downloading xsc64setup.tar.gz... % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed 100 3839k 100 3839k 0 0 1334k 0 0:00:02 0:00:02 --:--:-- 1334k ==> Validating source_x86_64 files with md5sums... xsc64setup.tar.gz ... FAILED ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!

Thanks! md5sum updated.

That's true. Removed build folder and it worked. Thanks!

sekret commented on 2017-06-27 06:46 (UTC)

It works for me, downloaded the sources again and compared the md5sums! Make sure you remove the sources of previous versions, because the name scheme of the tarball doesn't include the pkgver, so makepkg might think you already downloaded it.

Update to 8.70 version is broken. md5sum verification of source_x86_64 fails.
