Not sure why this was flagged? Just downloaded the latest version from the Humble Bundle site, cower'd it and it installs and runs perfectly. So at least as far as the Humble Bundle goes (which I would assume is the version on which this was intended) this is up-to-date and functioning correctly.

Since this package was flagged out of date, I've disowned it. I do not own the game (one of my friends did when I first updated the package), so I can't test the package.

Hopefully, someone who does have the game can fix whatever is wrong with the PKGBUILD :)

Hi, just letting you know that I was unable to launch Trine with the following log appearing (Intel Ironlake graphics):

ERROR: EXT_texture_compression_s3tc required
ERROR: Your graphics card cannot run this game. You can try updating your driver

Installing the libtxc_dxtn package from the AUR fixed the problem.

The reason you can't the file is because I have the package set up so that it removes libraries so that system shared libraries are used. That usually prevents any slow downs or crashes from happening. The way I found out which libraries I had to keep was by running 'ldd' on the game executables. For whatever reason 'libPhysXCore' was never listed...(and still isn't)

When I try to start a game, it craches with "dlopen cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" error. There is no such a library in my system or in the game directory indeed. There are only 32-bit binaries for PhysX and I have the 64-bit installation. What should I do?

After the upgrade to kernel 2.6.39 I finally have this game working on mesa-git with R600. Before this upgrade the screen was blank and I could only hear the music.

@rewind: Comment out line 100 in PKGBUILD (thats where bundled libGLEW is removed).

It seems that removing bundled libs was bad idea. I'll fix the PKGBUILD later, don't have time to test it right now.

So, could finally make it work using the latest mesa-git (need to build glproto-git, dri2proto-git and libdrm-git, tweak the PKGBUILD to build all the drivers not only mesa-git). The game launches, but even with the graphics to the lowest the game runs simply too slowly to be playable... Shame, but anyway if you have a powerful enough intel card, it works :)
Tried with GM45 (Mobile 4).
At least the music is nice, the humble bundle is not lost, there's still the Soundtrack :)

At the moment, no, you're right. But, the game launches and then stops complaining that "Shader Models 3.0" must be supported but on the Intel site they claim my card supports version 4.0. From the logs, it seems that the shaders are compiled correctly. So I'm still digging to see what I can do :)

Updated to latest version.
Other changes:
* included .install file from Babets' package
* added info about proprietary drivers
* removed bundled libs (with few exceptions)

I have tested it only on x86_64. Please let me know if there are any problems on i686

Also, Linux port wasn't made by Frozenbyte, so I doubt we will get the update to 1.09.

I have made a new pkgbuild and updated some files:
I removed many bundled libs, it works for me in x86_64, please test it for i686 and then if you want update yours.

You should remove bundled libs, I get bad audio with bundled libasound/libvorbis...
It's better to use system libs, the only lib that I don't know which package could provide is libcg (for this case leave it in lib folder).
Pkgbuilds should not be interactive (there was some discussion some time ago in aur-general ml) so asking for installer path is bad imho.

I know it's not a solution but try via wine... Maybe it would work.

@roylez: You have to install proprietary drivers for your video card (official NVidia drivers or Catalyst). It doesn't work with open source drivers and Intel cards.
@jijijaco: Trine has 64 bit version (unlike Shadowgrounds), so you only need 64 bit package (nvidia-utils).

I got nearly the same problem with shadowgrounds (same studio). If you are on x86_64 try to install lib32-libgl or lib32-nvidia-utils (The second one, only if you have a nvidia card)

If you are using Arch x86_64 make sure to install lib32-libglade from AUR.
