Just downloaded the latest version from the humble store, didn't work for me, so thanks for this package.

Anonymous comment on 2013-02-07 02:52

Not sure why this was flagged? Just downloaded the latest version from the Humble Bundle site, cower'd it and it installs and runs perfectly. So at least as far as the Humble Bundle goes (which I would assume is the version on which this was intended) this is up-to-date and functioning correctly.

chenxiaolong commented on 2013-02-06 03:54

Since this package was flagged out of date, I've disowned it. I do not own the game (one of my friends did when I first updated the package), so I can't test the package.

Hopefully, someone who does have the game can fix whatever is wrong with the PKGBUILD :)

chenxiaolong commented on 2012-03-19 15:26

@agwblack: Since it does not conflict with anything, I've added it to the dependencies :)

Anonymous comment on 2012-03-17 09:15

Hi, just letting you know that I was unable to launch Trine with the following log appearing (Intel Ironlake graphics):

ERROR: EXT_texture_compression_s3tc required
ERROR: Your graphics card cannot run this game. You can try updating your driver

Installing the libtxc_dxtn package from the AUR fixed the problem.

chenxiaolong commented on 2011-12-27 00:43

@N30N: Installing libpng12 from the AUR should fix the problem :)

N30N commented on 2011-12-26 20:47

Thanks for the package. was missing for me.

chenxiaolong commented on 2011-12-20 03:32

@PostBlue: That for reporting! I've added it to the PKGBUILD. It's weird how I never got any of these errors, maybe I have some other software installed that has those libraries...

postblue commented on 2011-12-20 01:13

Ok, just added '' under '' in the PKGBUILD and now it works fine. ;)

~ $ uname -rm
3.1.5-1-ARCH x86_64

postblue commented on 2011-12-20 00:32

Now at least it launches, thx !
But another one is missing :
dlopen cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

chenxiaolong commented on 2011-12-19 21:30

The reason you can't the file is because I have the package set up so that it removes libraries so that system shared libraries are used. That usually prevents any slow downs or crashes from happening. The way I found out which libraries I had to keep was by running 'ldd' on the game executables. For whatever reason 'libPhysXCore' was never listed...(and still isn't)

chenxiaolong commented on 2011-12-19 21:28

@Dayita: I've added it to the 'keep' array in the PKGBUILD. It should work now :)

Dayita commented on 2011-12-19 20:07

When I try to start a game, it craches with "dlopen cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" error. There is no such a library in my system or in the game directory indeed. There are only 32-bit binaries for PhysX and I have the 64-bit installation. What should I do?

swiftgeek commented on 2011-08-24 01:43

pls seed :D

unhammer commented on 2011-08-22 09:46

Should libtxc_dxtn be in optdepends? Might be needed for those using open source drivers.

Nev version on HumbleFrozenbyteBundle site - TrineUpdate4

KimTjik commented on 2011-07-21 19:04

I tried to find the patch needed, but haven't found any link. On the other hand I now see a new patch trineUnofficialUpdate4.

Update: fixed glew issue (reverted to bundled one)

geraldoav commented on 2011-06-12 22:35

After the upgrade to kernel 2.6.39 I finally have this game working on mesa-git with R600. Before this upgrade the screen was blank and I could only hear the music.

Anonymous comment on 2011-06-11 15:45

@rewind: Comment out line 100 in PKGBUILD (thats where bundled libGLEW is removed).

It seems that removing bundled libs was bad idea. I'll fix the PKGBUILD later, don't have time to test it right now.

Anonymous comment on 2011-06-09 19:15

After the last full system upgrade:
"./trine-bin: error while loading shared libraries: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
glew and lib32-glew are version 1.6:
Ideas ?

voria commented on 2011-05-08 12:06

New version has been released (TrineUpdate3). :)

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-28 17:57

updated to latest version

killermoehre commented on 2011-04-28 16:31

From the HumbleFrozenbyteBundle you can download now TrineUpdate2.

Cilyan commented on 2011-04-24 16:44

So, could finally make it work using the latest mesa-git (need to build glproto-git, dri2proto-git and libdrm-git, tweak the PKGBUILD to build all the drivers not only mesa-git). The game launches, but even with the graphics to the lowest the game runs simply too slowly to be playable... Shame, but anyway if you have a powerful enough intel card, it works :)
Tried with GM45 (Mobile 4).
At least the music is nice, the humble bundle is not lost, there's still the Soundtrack :)

Cilyan commented on 2011-04-24 14:48

At the moment, no, you're right. But, the game launches and then stops complaining that "Shader Models 3.0" must be supported but on the Intel site they claim my card supports version 4.0. From the logs, it seems that the shaders are compiled correctly. So I'm still digging to see what I can do :)

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-24 13:49

@Cilyan: Can you play it on Intel with that package? The developers claim this game won't run on Intel cards...

Cilyan commented on 2011-04-24 13:23

Seems libtxc_dxtn is needed. At least for Intel.

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-22 08:51

Updated to latest version.
Other changes:
* included .install file from Babets' package
* added info about proprietary drivers
* removed bundled libs (with few exceptions)

I have tested it only on x86_64. Please let me know if there are any problems on i686

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-21 18:35

@jimmy-6 Ok was my fault..

frb commented on 2011-04-21 12:23

Please test it on i686 because due to my old video card I cannot play it on my 32 bit machine.

frb commented on 2011-04-21 12:21

I have tested my pkgbuild on i686 and cleaned it a little bit:

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-20 09:46

@plantoschka: Windows version was 1.09 from the beginning. The Linux changelog says it's 1.08
Also, Linux port wasn't made by Frozenbyte, so I doubt we will get the update to 1.09.

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-20 09:14

@jimmy-6: Not sure if it's 1.09. When i click on the Windows Version it downloads a file called "". So i thought it's the same for Linux. But i definitely got updated

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-20 07:58

@plantoschka: Are you sure it's 1.09? The version number shown ingame is still 1.08.

@Babets: WOW! Nice work! I'll update the package with your changes and add you as a contributor :)

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-19 22:39

New Version 1.09 available from HumbleBundle

frb commented on 2011-04-18 19:08

There was an error in trine.desktop file so i fixed it
I don't know if it's necessary to update icon cache in the post_install/post_remove script.

frb commented on 2011-04-17 20:55

I have made a new pkgbuild and updated some files:
I removed many bundled libs, it works for me in x86_64, please test it for i686 and then if you want update yours.

frb commented on 2011-04-17 09:59

You should remove bundled libs, I get bad audio with bundled libasound/libvorbis...
It's better to use system libs, the only lib that I don't know which package could provide is libcg (for this case leave it in lib folder).
Pkgbuilds should not be interactive (there was some discussion some time ago in aur-general ml) so asking for installer path is bad imho.

kralyk commented on 2011-04-16 18:06

Ok, thanks for info...

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-16 18:02

I don't know, it's only copy/past from the webpage ;-) It seems to be an functionality of "real" 3D graphic cards, not any package.

kralyk commented on 2011-04-16 17:58

Do you possibly mean S3TC or is that unrelated?

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-16 17:52

From the official FAQ page :
Open source drivers
Trine and the Shadowgrounds games don't work with open source drivers because the games need ST3C support.

I know it's not a solution but try via wine... Maybe it would work.

kralyk commented on 2011-04-16 17:48

So if I have intel card, there is no point even in trying, huh? Sucks balls for me... :/

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-14 15:01

@roylez: You have to install proprietary drivers for your video card (official NVidia drivers or Catalyst). It doesn't work with open source drivers and Intel cards.
@jijijaco: Trine has 64 bit version (unlike Shadowgrounds), so you only need 64 bit package (nvidia-utils).

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-14 14:52

I got nearly the same problem with shadowgrounds (same studio). If you are on x86_64 try to install lib32-libgl or lib32-nvidia-utils (The second one, only if you have a nvidia card)

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-14 14:35

I am having this problem:

Got signal 11 at (nil) from 0xb56eedfb
[1] 12276 abort ./trine-bin

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-13 21:25

* changed file permissions
* changed .desktop file (added new category)

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-13 15:47

@jijijaco: I have x86_64 and it works fine without it. It's linked to /usr/lib/, which is owned by 64-bit libglade from extra.

Anonymous comment on 2011-04-13 07:48

If you are using Arch x86_64 make sure to install lib32-libglade from AUR.
