@dawcek: There is definitely something wrong. Check out the wiki page: for how to correctly set the locale.

Once the locale is set correctly, there should be no warning messages.

dawcek commented on 2018-04-04 09:46

with polish locale: [dawid@dawcek ~]$ trizen -S code błąd: pakiet code nie został znaleziony =>> Try again? [y/N]:

when I will switch to english locale: [dawid@dawcek ~]$ export LANG=en_US.UTF-8 [dawid@dawcek ~]$ trizen -S code <br> perl: warning: Setting locale failed. perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings: LANGUAGE = "pl", LC_ALL = (unset), LANG = "en_US.UTF-8" are supported and installed on your system. perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

And I am able to build package.

Am I doing sth wrong or this is some kind of bug?

trizen commented on 2018-04-03 22:30

@dawcek: Could you, please, post the error message you are getting? Thanks!

@OriginCode: Yes, please feel free to do so.

OriginCode commented on 2018-04-03 12:42

Can I package this to archlinuxcn community repository? Thank you all.

dawcek commented on 2018-04-02 16:29

Hello I've installed version 1.46 and I am unable to install any packages. There were information that package not found and question about retry operation . I have set polish locale, if I changed it to english locale there were some warnings but trizen application could build custom package.

The older version 1.44 is working correctly.

Please let me know if I am doing sth wrong.

Thanks Dawid

Although I understand that 'trizen -ca' will "clean" my trizen AUR cache folder, I'm not sure whether it deletes all cached packages in the folder, leaves the most recent ones there, deletes only uninstalled packages, or what?

I haven't seen anything that clarifies that, and I've looked. So, can anyone answer what is actually done by that command?

Dracul commented on 2018-03-20 23:11

I had use yaourt for most time ago, but one-two months ago I had try trizen, and now I use only this

virtualdemon commented on 2018-03-10 09:05

very nice and user-friendly aur helper.

Det commented on 2018-02-25 13:00

Just another +1 for the great work.

Hope you're not starting to dislike these :d.

t0m5k1 commented on 2018-02-01 17:54

I felt compelled to thank you Trizen for this aur helper/wrapper, I moved to this after using pacaur for many long years and I must say trizen is a great alternative if not better than pacaur.

Thanks again. PS: I hope you can accept and look into my feature request.

flv commented on 2018-01-12 21:44

A --date flag for trizen -Qq would be great. Yaourt supports it, and it's pretty much the only features that this tool is missing

schulz commented on 2018-01-11 20:38

Nice work with trizen. I've been using it for a while on my machines and it works perfectly!

eorclus commented on 2018-01-07 14:55

thank you for your super great tool, you really help many arch user. Keep the good work @badonkadong: trizen has similar option with pacman, i don't think we really need it, i think trizen --h is enough.

badonkadong commented on 2017-12-30 01:30

no man pages for trizen ?

solnce commented on 2017-12-21 19:04

@trizen: That did it. pacaur accepted the separation with commas, but pacman doesn't, so trizen is correct here.

I agree with lei00, trizen is definitely a good AUR helper! Thank you.

trizen commented on 2017-12-20 22:20

@lei00: Thank you for the kind words. Very much appreciated. I will try my best to keep maintaining and improving this package, so we'll all enjoy using it. Cheers! :)

trizen commented on 2017-12-20 22:10

@solnce: I think you have to separate the ignored packages with spaces instead of commas, in pacman.conf.

lei00 commented on 2017-12-20 22:10

Just want to take the opportunity to thank Daniel for his aur helper and the work he is doing to maintain it. We do not usually think of thanking the maintainer but I think it is important so a Big THANK YOU and keep up the great work mate :)

solnce commented on 2017-12-20 21:57

trizen commented on 2017-12-20 21:51

@solnce : what is the output of: /usr/bin/pacconf IgnorePkg ?

solnce commented on 2017-12-20 21:20

On my Manjaro system, the ignored packages from /etc/pacman.conf are not ignored. I have pacutils installed.

SyncFirst seems to be only present on Manjaro, not in plain Arch. From Manjaro, man pacman.conf -->

trizen commented on 2013-11-03 07:46

Types::Serialiser should be listed as a dependency for 'perl-json-xs'. trizen does not use directly this module.

modulation commented on 2013-11-03 07:36

Using latest trizen there seems to be a new dependency:

Can't locate Types/ in @INC (you may need to install the Types::Serialiser module)

trizen commented on 2013-04-02 08:48

Fixed. For some reason, I have /bin/arch that looks like this:

uname -m

So, I've changed the script to execute 'uname -m', instead of arch. Thanks.

modulation commented on 2013-04-02 08:26

There seems to be a new dependency?

Can't exec "arch": No such file or directory at /usr/bin/trizen line 59.
Use of uninitialized value in substr at /usr/bin/trizen line 59.

trizen commented on 2012-11-14 16:22

Updated. Thanks!

daimonion commented on 2012-11-14 14:41

Please add 'perl-lwp-protocol-https' into dependencies, it solves the problem described below.

daimonion commented on 2012-11-14 14:36

I can't update AUR packages anymore, here's the error:

501 Protocol scheme 'https' is not supported (LWP::Protocol::https not installed)
** Unable to get info for local packages

daimonion commented on 2012-11-14 14:28

I cannot search update packets from AUR, this is the output:
"** Unable to get info for local packages"

daimonion commented on 2011-11-06 23:42

I've found the source aforementioned problem. In line 696 change
system qq[$sudo_or_su "$pacman -S $pkgname"];
system "$sudo_or_su $pacman -S $pkgname";
and trizne will normally install a package from official repos. I don't know if this will break any other feature, though. So far everything is working normally.

daimonion commented on 2011-11-06 16:02

No problem, I liked your program, it' really amazing: simple and lightweight, with minimum dependencies. I still have this error when trying to install programs from official repositories:

$ trizen -S conky

=>> Installing 'conky' with pacman

Sudo Password:
sudo: pacman -S conky: command not found

I don't know if this is supported at all. Also, there are features I miss from yaourt, I would like to see them in trizen if possible:
1. I can view all local packages in yaourt by issuing yaourt -Qma command which looks like this:
2. Don't know how to explain, so here's a picture:

Feature 2. is questionable, I figure you didn't imagined trizen as a wrapper for every pacman function. But feature 1. would be nice to have: it's just a 'pacman -Qm' command but colored, and displays which packages are available on AUR. :)

trizen commented on 2011-11-06 14:06

Fixed. You're a good tester :)

daimonion commented on 2011-11-06 13:38

Sorry to bother you again, another error came up:

daimonion commented on 2011-11-06 11:51

Here's the patch for the feature I need:

It's ugly, I know, but: good bye yaourt! :D

daimonion commented on 2011-11-06 11:29

Sorry to bother again, I have another error:

daimonion commented on 2011-11-06 11:20

If you add an option to move the built package to the pacman cache directory (using 'su' to execute the mv command), I'll ditch the yaourt! :D

trizen commented on 2011-11-06 10:46

Fixed. Thanks!

daimonion commented on 2011-11-05 23:05

I get this error:

By the way, I love all your apps, they're simply fantastic!

trizen commented on 2011-07-29 03:48

But you're wrong :)

lolilolicon commented on 2011-05-22 04:27

May I request HTTPS support? Maybe as an option --https to force https whenever possible?

ajs124 commented on 2011-04-26 21:12

eh, i think dependencies aren't searched in the aur, so e.g. lib32-ogre can't be build automaticly, because it depends on packages from the aur.

trizen commented on 2011-02-27 11:08

ajs124 commented on 2011-02-26 22:13

xgalaga != xgalaga++
but with trizen, it is^^

trizen commented on 2011-02-20 19:55

No, it is. Problem has been fixed in git. Please reinstall the application. Thanks for your report.

It is not OK:

Rewritten from scratch and moved to github. The performance and stability has been improved. Everything should work fine now...

trizen commented on 2010-11-20 14:55

I think is better in my way. Now script will look for 3 popular editors: joe, vi and nano or user can specify a editor when installs a package, ex: trizen -S [pkgname] --editor leafpad

Please use arch=('any') instead of arch=('i686' 'x86_64').
