Note: ttf-arphic-{uming,ukai} in [extra] are strictly free fonts, while these two fonts are for non-profit use only. Most people should find {uming,ukai} enough for daily usage.

@oldherl bro i'm not asking you to fix the certificate... no im not...

ig i will sent a mail about the problem... i'm not expecting any replay tho...

@zoorat

  1. You can download the fonts with Firefox, then put then in a folder with the PKGBUILD and makepkg.
  2. Or you can use my prebuilt package in [archlinuxcn].
  3. I'm not an Arphic employee. Their certificate can only be fixed from their side, not me or any other random person here on AUR.

zoorat commented on 2021-11-24 16:43 (UTC)

@oldherl so, you can see... makepkg or AUR helpers uses curl not firefox... something needs to be done.

@zoorat Now I see the problem. It's wget and curl that don't recognize the certificate, but Firefox can download them without problems. Firefox uses core/ca-certificates-mozilla but wget and curl use core/ca-certificates. But I don't know why wget and curl don't trust that certificate.

@zoorat I can download them at those URLs without any issues. But if you can't download, you can try the package in [archlinuxcn], a 3rd-party repo. The link is https://repo.archlinuxcn.org/any/ttf-arphic-extra-20100309-3-any.pkg.tar.zst

@Hexcles:

I found it.

http://www.arphic.com.tw/2019/03/27/%E6%96%87%E9%BC%8E%E5%85%AC%E7%9C%BE%E6%8E%88%E6%AC%8A%E5%AD%97%E5%9E%8B/

There are 2 zip files containing ttf and licenses.

Arphic just redesigned their website. The fonts seem to be missing on the new site. I'd appreciate if someone can find a new (official) link.
