P.S. I'd be happy to help maintain this if you add me as a co-maintainer. I'd like to add a sub-package to this build for the variable font version is the same git repository as well just to mirror the stable release packages (which I also maintain).

Also please drop the
depends=('fontconfig' 'xorg-font-utils')
line entirely. The Arch packages now have hooks that trigger the right actions when they are installed, but systems may use fonts without forcing them (for example I install fonts in some Docker containers for typesetting without wanting the xorg tools baggage).
