Please consider removing the ttf-go.install script and runtime dependencies.

Both xorg-mkfontscale and fontconfig packages ship their own pacman hooks to rebuild cache when new fonts are installed:

https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/xorg-mkfontscale/-/blob/main/xorg-mkfontscale.hook?ref_type=heads

https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/fontconfig/-/blob/main/40-fontconfig-config.hook?ref_type=heads

... and other packages of fonts don't depend on fontconfig / xorg-mkfontscale now. Example: https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/ttf-sazanami/-/blob/main/PKGBUILD?ref_type=heads

@actionless thanks for pointing that out!

please add xorg-mkfontscale to the dependencies (it's needed for INSTALL scripts)

No idea, am no fonts expert... Are you talking about the Go Mono font or the regular font? Does is appear everywhere where you use this font or just in one program?

On my system: "uname -r : 4.8.13-1-ARCH" the space between the characters is irregular and the words collapses making this font unusable. Might be a truetype issue? Do you have any workaround?
