Thank you dbrgn for packaging and pointing this out. For my the following worked:

gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-key 2F062CD1542547AF71BD9B818FC5CD2B9DFB1B4B

To build this, you need to import the Things Network signing key: gpg --recv-key 2F062CD1542547AF71BD9B818FC5CD2B9DFB1B4B You can also find that key referenced here: https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/docs/network/cli/quick-start.html The AUR package will validate the checksums file signature with that PGP key and then verify the binary against the checksum. That's why makepkg's built-in checksum checks are disabled.
