architecture should be i686, not i386
The proper architecture line should read:
arch=('i686' 'x86_64')

xfce4-volumed (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=31693) is still working gr8! just need to rebuild it dependency libkeybinder (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=41551), which in turn depens on suddenly updated libpng from main repo

This project will be largely abandoned by it's developer before long, in favor of another project called Volumeicon that does much the same thing. Dav (tudor-volumed's dev) submitted a patch contributing media key handling to Volumeicon that was accepted upsteam. This should still work in most cases, but will probably get no more updates. I'm leaving the pkgbuild up until volumed no longer builds or I get some other issue with it.

This finally works for my Logitech Z-10. LCD-volumecontrol was broken with xfce4-volumed daemon.

Obviously, I'm not building on i386. Should work now.

I would double-check your "arch=()" line, caused me some problems before I fixed it.
