I mean, I was sure that I deleted everything from the previous installation, but it was not the case. Removed all the
twitch-indicator*.desktop
in~/.local/share/applications
and now it works flawlessly! Thanks, mate.buzz commented on 2020-10-02 10:46 (UTC)
Did you tamper with
twitch-indicator-auth.desktop
before, didn't you? Do you still have your local version installed in~/.local/share/applications

Installed the new version, I can see the icon on the tray when I run it, the popup with the button "Authorize" comes up, I can authorize it from Twitch website but then I get this:

New version 1.0 released.

I've installed it from source, maybe I messed up something in the process.

That depends on how you installed the package. Dig into the source or just wait for the release.

Ok, that did the trick. But no icon on my tray.

I can run the dev version locally. The installation procedure is not tested though. If you want to beta test, that would be awesome.
You need
data/twitch-indicator-auth.desktop
to be installed on your system (e. g. into~/.local/share/applications
) and runupdate-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications
or something around the lines. This should add the location scheme to your system which in turn enables the Twitch website to pass the auth token into the app.Pipodi commented on 2020-10-01 14:10 (UTC)
@buzz Ok, FYI I recompiled the schemas and I can authorize the app, but then I get a popup saying:
I'm on Manjaro XFCE.
