I only checked this and other nscd related packages when glibc support for nscd was removed from official package, so this is not really a problem for me.

Thanks, I just reverted the commit that disables nscd. Very simple indeed. But now it becomes a hassle every time I update. How did you end up solving this, are you building your own every time there is an update?

I guess you could just try commenting out code related to disabling glibc's nscd.

lrustand commented on 2023-10-25 16:02 (UTC)

Well, that sucks

micwoj92 commented on 2023-10-25 15:37 (UTC)

Nope, the only way I found is to rebuild glibc yourself with nscd support. I also tried emailing upstream, but got no reply.

Did anyone find a fix to the error mentioned by micwoj92?

micwoj92 commented on 2023-09-24 19:12 (UTC)

Fails at linkking

/usr/bin/ld: /tmp/ccTuFE0n.o: in function `main':
nscd-0.54.c:(.text.startup+0x38): undefined reference to `__nss_disable_nscd'
