I have to agree that something in the program's behaviour has changed, since I get an illogical "is a directory" ioctl error, but the reset actually has an effect.
Some Googling tells me that it may not fully reset things in the kernel, though.
If you know more, please post it and I'll do my best to fix it.
Unflagging for now because it mostly "works for me".
