@samueldy I've tripled checked and every time checksums were correct. I downloaded a snapshot from this page, used yay and my personal directory in which I make the package.

Maybe You had some problems during downloading?

Hi, just tried to install the new 3.5.7-1 version, but both MD5 and SHA256 validity checks are failing. My downloaded VESTA-gtk3.tar.bz2 has SHA256 "492556a4dc818f9517c5e23db4c10f0f9c696dd6b3421e70453c09440f0536f9", not "f159bc0d7d68c3acaedbbaa0a7548f093d9572247572b7c71787919302b8edf2".

Thanks!

VESTA 3.5.2 has been released. It also fixed previous CHGCAR issue. Please update.

the pkgbuild is still using http while jp-minerals.org now supports https: https://gist.github.com/simonpintarelli/e61818e0b0c4627344e4368463a42c88

For guys who get blank output when open CHGCAR:

Go to the official website and download and use GTK2 version.

I have reported the bug in the forum. Also, when I have time, I will try to create the package vesta-gtk2 in AUR.

After a bit of googling I found a workaround:

MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=i965 LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=1 VESTA

This disables iris and DRI3.

In my previous setup I had DRI set to 2 in Xorg and this lead to the segfault reported below. Now I can use DRI3 systemwide and revert back to i965 driver and DRI2 for VESTA.

After last update VESTA segfaults. Here's my backtrace

PKGBUILD (pkgrel=1) does not match AUR database (pkgrel=2)

simonp commented on 2020-02-10 08:37 (UTC)

The website supports https. Here is an updated PKGBUILD: https://gist.github.com/e253044520000d892dd5a9ad8a73c8e1

Apparently libpng12 is no longer a dependency:

Jan. 27 2019 ver. 3.4.6 Removed dependency of the Linux version on libpng12.so.0.

And tested against the last executable:

$ ldd /opt/vesta/VESTA linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007ffea73b7000) libm.so.6 => /usr/lib/libm.so.6 (0x00007f19f5aa0000) libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0x00007f19f5910000) libgcc_s.so.1 => /usr/lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x00007f19f58f6000) libpthread.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x00007f19f58d5000) libc.so.6 => /usr/lib/libc.so.6 (0x00007f19f5710000) /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 => /usr/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f19f5c4c000) libdl.so.2 => /usr/lib/libdl.so.2 (0x00007f19f570b000)
