Removing the package 'sip-65' and then installing veusz did solve the issue for me

Same problem here as medmedin is reporting

medmedin commented on 2022-11-03 21:16 (UTC)

@sirocco The same error appears with makepkg command.

@medmedin Try to build without yay, using makepkg

@sirocco You need to install a required package before running veusz as binary, on Manjaro it's called libxcrypt-compat

sirocco commented on 2022-08-20 12:58 (UTC) (edited on 2022-08-20 13:00 (UTC) by sirocco)

i tried to run veusz as described in INSTALL

2.1 Linux binary
If your distribution does not include an up to date package, you can
use the Linux binary instead (for x86_64). Note that this may not
work on all distributions due to glibc/library
incompatibilities. Simply unpack the tar file and run the main

# tar xf veusz-3.4-linux-x86_64.tar.xz [change version here]
# cd veusz-3.4-linux-x86_64
# ./veusz.exe [note, it's not a windows exe!]
$ ./veusz.exe
[2999] Error loading Python lib '/home/user1/linux/test/veusz-3.4-linux-x86_64/': dlopen: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

If you don't want to compile, you can use veusz via flatpak

medmedin commented on 2022-08-20 09:10 (UTC)

@sirocco It make no sense to compile whole source and wait for that long process with those weird logs while the binary for Linux is already available.

Added a patch from the author of veusz as a temporary solution.
Build with sip from [Extra]
