@garlandKey I actually have already disowned the package, @aclindsa was made a co-maintainer in the past to help me with a patch when I have no access to my computer at the time, maybe you could try emailing them to disown the package.

@timescam I've been using Arch for about a decade and recently pivoted into software engineering. As such, I'd like to start contributing to open-source projects. Since you mentioned that you plan on disowning this package, I'd happily adopt it. Maintaining this app will be a good "first issue" for me.

For those wanting to get 3.0.0 just update the pkgbuild file to pkgver=3.0.0 and update the checksum.

It has been a while since I've used via through the binary release. Together with 2.2.0 release making the binary an electron wrapper that points to https://usevia.app/, i.e. probably no more updates in the future. I am now going to disown this package.
Thank you everyone who help me in the past, either through contribute or reporting.
Thank you

Looks like the latest version fails to symlink /usr/bin/via correctly. Should point to /opt/VIA/via-nativia, but instead points to /opt/VIA/via.

binary releases starting from 2.0.4 will be binary distribution of electron builds for https://usevia.app/

@TornaxO7 upstream issue, workaround
Also, vial is an opensource alternative, I suggest trying that out

Is that normal? (I just normally run it with via
, but sudo via --no-sandbox
works).

Worked after installing a polkit agent for my sway/wayland desktop, installed lxpolkit
and ran in a separate terminal before launching via
.
