I don't use this, so these are humble suggestions for improvement:

  1. binname shouldn't be declared as a separate variable — it might conflict if a similarly named variable is introduced in the PKGBUILD format in the future. If you want to avoid duplication, use _binname.
  2. /usr/bin/viking and other similar paths are already owner by the official package extra/viking (which is mentioned on line 38). The latest update makes it impossible to install both packages at the same time. I'd revert all changes except for the version bump.
  3. there is no need to increment pkgrel while also increasing the version number.
  4. I no longer maintain the package, please update the first line to reflect this.
