I've removed the use of
sudo
and properly create the package now rather than directly installing to the system.bitswitcher commented on 2023-01-06 19:01 (UTC)
kleintux, thanks for bringing this to my attention. This was one of the first packages I had created when I was getting started with Arch. I understand the issue with the PKGBUILD now with hindsight and will correct it promptly.

Don't use SUDO in PKGBUILDS. it's forbidden. Don't install something direct to the System. It's a security risk and the files will not be deleted if the package gets deleted. You need to add the files to the pkgdir folder.
see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Creating_packages#package()
gzip / make / sed / bash are not needed as dependency they are in https://archlinux.org/groups/x86_64/base-devel/
thank you for fixing and maintaining
