Could you update the PKGBUILD to current guidelines? The pkgver() function is missing and the checkout in build() is unnecessary.

I use yaourt and it builds without an issue. I'm unsure as to why it wouldn't build with other package managers/wrappers

Doesn't build via pacaur: ... ==> Starting build()... You asked to pull from the remote 'origin', but did not specify a branch. Because this is not the default configured remote for your current branch, you must specify a branch on the command line. ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build(). Aborting... ... Building from AUR snapshot goes successfully.
