Since a couple of days ago, Virtaal is freezing on startup. It doesn't matter if I open it with or without an existing PO file: the main window opens, I see the header of the window, but nothing more is displayed.

Is it just me?

Package updated:
* Added install script to handle icon-cache, mime-cache and desktop-cache updates
* Changed deps version for python-lxml and translate-toolkit (older versions cause virtaal to crash on non-ascii encoding locales)

I have owned this package and updated to 0.7.1 version.
**** IMPORTANT ****
There is a show stopper bugs that makes impossible to use virtaal for non-ascii encoding locale users:

** There is a upstream python2 bug that makes impossible to use virtaal for non-ascii encoding locale users.( See http://bugs.python.org/issue13099) Those users should repackage (via ABS) translate-toolkit with the upstream patch (http://bugs.locamotion.org/attachment.cgi?id=802) that workarounds this python bug; until Arch Packagers decide and provide a patched translate-toolkit-1.9.0 or upstream releases a new stable version or python developers release another bugfix release.

I have reported this issue to flyspray (https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/27907?project=5) . So, i' ll not provide PKGBUILD for translate-toolkit until get a reply from package maintainers.

I have owned this package and updated to 0.7.1 version.
**** IMPORTANT ****
There are two show stopper bugs that makes impossible to use virtaal for non-ascii encoding locale users:

**First: Non-ascii locale users (ie. Turkish) should build and use python-lxml > 2.3.2 until Arch Linux packagers package 2.3.3 version which has fixed "unknown encoding: ASCII problem" error. See: https://bugs.launchpad.net/lxml/+bug/899066

**Second: There is a upstream python2 bug that makes impossible to use virtaal for non-ascii encoding locale users.( See http://bugs.python.org/issue13099) Those users should repackage (via ABS) translate-toolkit with the upstream patch (http://bugs.locamotion.org/attachment.cgi?id=802) that workarounds this python bug; until Arch Packagers decide and provide a patched translate-toolkit-1.9.0 or upstream releases a new stable version.

I have reported those issues to Arch Linux packagers and waiting for their reply. So, i' ll not provide PKGBUILDS for translate-toolkit and python-lxml yet.

I am a robot. AUR guidelines suggest to not include binaries. Examples:
virtaal/virtaal-0.6.1.tar.bz2
The tarball is alarmingly large: 1162KB. Compressed files detected. This robot will not bother you again.
