@OvelixMax: I didn't manage to enable netcdf in this build as there is some incompatibilities, you may check the visit-bin or visit-build packages to have the support of netcdf

OvelixMax commented on 2017-08-17 20:15

Hi @eolianoe,
I use visit only for the NetCDF outputs of the FVCOM model. But now there is no support for NetCDF in the last build.
How can we fix that?

eolianoe commented on 2017-07-25 16:18

@ycl: you may check the 2.12.3-3 PKGBUILD that should fix your issue

ycl commented on 2017-07-19 20:07

@lltp: this is not directly possible for now with the current structure of directories.

lltp commented on 2017-01-04 13:10

Could you please consider transitioning from an installation in /opt to an installation in /usr?

Pacman is quite good at tracking files anyway and VisIt would be in the PATH right away.

@kilozap: I enabled xdmf in visit-build, I'll try to enable it in this one (but there is some trouble with the xdmf package) and fix the issues in visit-bin.

killozap commented on 2016-11-16 15:13

@eolianoe: would be great if you could, visit-bin doesn't work for me. appreciate your effort!

eolianoe commented on 2016-11-16 09:25

@kilozap: xdmf is not enable for now in this package or in 'visit-build', I'll try to enable it and in the meantime you could look at 'visit-bin' (I think the xdmf reader is included in this one)

killozap commented on 2016-11-14 20:20

for some reason the XDMF reader is not installed, only the legacy visitxdmf 1.0. do you know anything about this? thanks!

eolianoe commented on 2016-09-29 08:32

@killozap: I know, I already update the binary package (visit-bin), but I have some trouble with this one and visit-build. visit is building fine but I cannot run it. I need more time to investigate, I'll update as soon as possible.

Version 2.11.0 was released.

@lahwaacz: updated to 2.10.3

It seems that I can't download the source tarball. The server always closes the connection after exactly 64.0M:

Also, there is version 2.10.3 available, which I have been able to download just fine...

@chem.tand: yes, it seems that VisIt is only compatible with VTK 6.1.0, I will try to build it against VTK 6.3.0 or upload a vtk-61 package in order to be compatible.
In the meantime you could remove the visit package and use the visit-build [1] or visit-bin [2] packages.

vtk dependency is holding back arch updates

eolianoe commented on 2015-02-20 17:23

@sevecekp: This is because you ${MAKEFLAGS} variable is not defined in /etc/makepkg.conf. I added a test in order do fix that case.

visit updated to the version 2.7

immae commented on 2013-11-27 10:31

visit 2.7.0 is out, can you update it?

tnoo commented on 2013-04-02 06:13

visit 2.6.2 is out

feel commented on 2012-08-23 14:40

You are right but you can find the executable directly in /opt/visit.
I will fix it soon.

Compilation and everything worked out fine, but there must be an error in the PKGBUILD somewhere, because the installation just created a symlink from /usr/bin/visit to /tmp/yaourt-tmp/aur-visit/pkg/opt/visit/visit. After /tmp was cleaned, visit obviously stopped working. This is truly painful when the build takes hours.

Thanks beretta but in the website the 2.4.2 is not available.
The server seems to be down. I will try again the next days.
