Hi @simnalamburt, you can download my prebuilt version from here:

Actually.. I can't (?!) building this package requires more than 4 GiB of RAM which I don't have. I could see that this package applies some patches to the official VSCode release, but I don't see why it prevents us from distributing pre-build packages. Is there any license problem?

Hi @simnalamburt, I don't think it is possible to have pre-built binary version at this moment. Because this AUR modifies the source code of VSCode release version. It will take about 10 ~ 20 min to compile depending on your laptop spec. We are all waiting for the official release of electron 12 at this moment.

Thanks for doing all those heavy liftings! Is there any plan to release pre-built packages like visual-studio-code-wayland-bin?

Found a solution for broken titlebar and menu:

Add this to your settings.json:

"window.titleBarStyle": "custom",

Here's some problems with my installation:

  • Application missing titlebar
  • Menubar is not working
  • Cursor sometimes gets REALLY LARGE

@jamesxu182 I rebuilt the package and that resolved the issue. I will remember to rebuild this package the next time electron is updated. Thank you.

Hi @nitsky. I tried but I did not see this issue. if vscode is still not working to you. please rebuild the package because it will build the vscode with your current electron version (at this moment it is 12.0.0-beta.16). Thought I don't think the electron runtime version and compiling version has to be absolutely same. Please let me know if you still have the problem. Thanks.
