it seems i've mistakenly flagged the wrong version in out-of-date comment. Sorry about that. can't figure out how to edit that comment.

@BlackIkeEagle: Thanks, seems to be working now as before (vivaldi 2.0.1309.29-3).

New version for the media crash

@kkl2401 I'll rebuild, I've repacked the wrong version, sorry

Anyone else here using Vivaldi without having installed vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs? Until 2.x, Vivaldi would just not play the content that needed those decoders. Since 2.x, the whole tab immediately crashes. Which is unfortunate e.g. on Twitter which auto-plays GIFs (or whatever it actually is).

It turns out, you might need to remove the package cache afterwards as well; so, just run the following after the reinstallation:

yaourt -Sc && sudo rm -r /tmp/yaourt-tmp-*

@giogziro95 happy to help! :)

@cogwerkz Okay, so I've reinstalled the package-query AUR package and the issue is now gone. I've spent an hour or so to fix this... Can't believe that was just it, LOL.

Thanks!

@cogwerkz Thanks for the reply. I'm using yaourt on Manjaro. Does this issue affect you?

I've also searched the Web and tried some solutions, like passing some additional arguments and editing the aur.sh script according to this:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1060031#p1060031

But nothing worked...

@giogziro95 are you using yaourt or another AUR-helper? If so chances are you need to (manually) update and install package-query, and then rebuild yaourt or whatever AUR helper you are using.

The reason is some changes in the latest version of pacman which affects packages communication with the AUR.
