This is strange. I can see that this package should be up to date with version 3.3 However, my installation is still on 3.2 with no updates available when checking via pacman.

@OutOfPhase What do you mean? This uses the latest version distributed on the Vivaldi website.

When can we expect this package to be updated?

DrewBC commented on 2020-08-20 03:20

Manjaro Linux Budgie DE

After updates yesterday and today (Aug 18&19-2020) Vivaldi won't connect to the internet. And won't open properly. Uninstalled and attempted to reinstall but pamac won't install it.

Been experiencing crashes whenever I try to install an extension. Is this expected or is there some work around for this?

Found the answer here:

@Twiki Thank you very much. The message is gone and the video on the link is working.

Twiki commented on 2020-06-11 18:56

@JcNils One of the dependencies is "vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs" (check above). Its purpose is to playback proprietary video/audio. Check if you have it installed. If not, also read the pinned comment at its AUR page.

JcNils commented on 2020-06-11 16:42

There was an update today, I got this message that it cannot play proprietary media HTML5(audio and video codecs) anymore.

It makes me wonder if it could not do it before but it did not show a message. Or if I could do it and I cannot do it now.

All sites I watch videos are working just fine. I guess no one uses those proprietary codecs anymore.

It is not impacting me, but I just thought I should post it here because of the message on the url.

Meanwhile, may I be added as a co-maintainer?
