Sorry about that. I'll push out a fix soon.

Please also add wlroot0.15 to the depends to use proper system wlroots version and avoid pulling in conflicting files. Add this to the build(): export PKG_CONFIG_PATH='/usr/lib/wlroots0.15/pkgconfig' and put some vivarium.desktop file like this into /usr/share/wayland-sessions: [Desktop Entry] Name=Vivarium Comment=A dynamic tiling Wayland compositor using wlroots Exec=vivarium Type=Application

"xorg-xwayland" makedependency is missing to get it build in a clean chroot.

Vivarium now depends on wlroots 0.15, the pkgbuild needs updating to specify this new dependency version. I think that's the only change necessary, so if you make the change manually for your own install it should work.

Can this please be fixed?
error: could not find all required packages: wlroots<0.15.0 (wanted by: vivarium-git)
Yes, it will be updated for wlroots 0.15 when I get around to it, probably within the next couple of weeks. This will be tracked at

Can this be updated to build with wlroots 0.15?

it's just a .desktop installed to /usr/share/wayland-sessions similar to X.

Here's an example of wayfire's

[Desktop Entry]

They provide that by default. I ended up copying it to use for sway.

I haven't looked into what exactly vivarium needs to provide to allow for display manager usage, but I'm happy to add it in principle.

For what it's worth the sway login managers wiki page at probably applies to vivarium - I have it set to autostart on one of my ttys which works well enough that I hadn't thought about supporting anything else yet. I don't want to exclude other methods though.

Thoughts on providing a wayland-session/.desktop file for vivarium to allow for Display Manager usage?
