Regarding outdated flag, it's because https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/merge_requests/4765 has been merged. Now CXXFLAGS should be set to " -std=c++17", because otherwise it won't build.

@himurae Thanks for letting me know. The issue was due to the no longer required patch for libplacebo and is now fixed.

The current arch package of libplacebo does not yet contain a revert that re-adds previously removed functions. This leads to a compilation error. Using libplacebo-git as suggested by @xiota works around this problem but may cause dependency problems.

I've added a temporary patch to this package that disables the functions in question. As a result, libplacebo video output misses some (but not all) up-/downscaler presets for the time being. I'll remove the patch once the arch package of libplacebo is updated to API version 341 or later.

@xiota Thank you for updating this package. I wouldn't mind to keep it updated alongside with vlc-wayland-git, so if neither you nor @HurricanePootis want to maintain it, I'll be happy to do so, either as maintainer or as comaintainer.

This package has been synced with vlc-wayland-git, but without the 2419 patch. Test built in a clean chroot.

Despite the name, vlc-wayland-git works just fine on x11 as well. The "wayland" patch allows embedded video on the wayland platform.
