All my packages are always built in a clean chroot, using extra-x86_64-build from devtools package, exactly as any other official Arch Linux package.

Whenever you have issues in building the package just to make sure you build it in a clean chroot as stated above. I cannot help you if you build it using makepkg, your system is not clean and it will contain external dependencies that could break the build process.

@kevinkjt2000 why do you think so? My binary files are properly linked against

Try to rebuild the package again

I think icu59 also needs to be added as a dependency now. Seems like the update to version 60 has caused broken dependencies on libicu*.so.59 files.

I've replaced the xerces-c dependency with libxerces-c-3.1.

amos commented on 2017-11-01 17:08

Broken since upgrade to xerces-c-3.2, since VMWare is linked against xerces-c-3.1. This means we need either to use the packaged one, or have an AUR xerces-c-3.1 package.

This is amazing. Thank you for the package.

As these are just comments, I'd just like to say: thanks Muflone! :)
Appreciate seeing this as an PKGBUILD.

OK thanks for clearing that up. I'd never seen an AUR package that requires some user action first so I wasn't sure what the deal was.

Muflone commented on 2015-05-17 21:28

I suppose that the last part of the package description wasn't enough clear for you: "VMware Open Virtualization Format tool (place the file VMware-ovftool-4.1.0-2459827-lin.YOUR-ARCH.bundle in the same directory of the PKGBUILD)"

However I've just updated the package to download the installer from another source.
