Just want to warn people that whatever this package/program does is not usable. Just spent messing with configuration for an hour. Run:

julius -input mic -C /usr/share/voxforge/julius/julius.jconf

Build own dictionary, set up as best as possible and it only detects nonsense (DIAL FIVE or DIAL EIGHT with sample.grammar) no matter what you do. Did define very simple stuff, like "A" and "AAA" for example, not recognized. I guess the acoustic model is bogus, build wrong or whatever.

Just downloaded latest Voxforge http://www.repository.voxforge1.org/downloads/Main/Tags/Releases/0_1_1-build726/ , unpack to /usr/share/voxforge/julius/ and it is fixed! Works not well but works.

ilverz: you will need to install julius first (also in AUR)

ilverz commented on 2013-09-07 08:06

I get the following error:

bash: julius: command not found
