IF PROBLEM HAPPEN

this package is our try to put amdgpu in ARCH, but this could break or have problems as amd update and change their packages for ubuntu

if anything happens you can always download a older tag in https://github.com/Ashark/archlinux-amdgpu-pro/releases and get the PKGBUILD there, and use makepkg with that build while we update or try to fix :)

ALWAYS USE LINUX-FIRMWARE-GIT IF LATEST DRIVER FAIL BEFORE ISSUE SOME ERROR

For Manjaro I can confirm, that archlinux-amdgpu-pro v23.40_1710631-1 and linux-firmware-git 20240130.001ba06d-1 work together.

I might if I notice an update early, I'm not a frequent user of the amd pro packages

@simir i updated the git and this aur too, the vulkan is now in mesa package (thats is great no need to look for proprietary bullshit)

this should be working now, thx for the calls and help, if you like you can open prs to the git next time too, i`ll be glad to review :)

yes, linux-firmware-git is required, but it's working for me with radv. I also previously installed the latest amf-headers (repo is currently OOD) and recompilled ffmpeg prior to installing amf-amdgpu-pro

yeah, with linux-firmware-git its working, ill change the wiki to say that

linux-firmware-git 20240126.8fa621d2-1 works with 6.0.1

mesmer commented on 2024-01-29 17:19 (UTC)

FYI: the 6.0.1 get problem with firmware again haha im trying with linux-firmware-git to see if the git version works with this right now

@simir thx for the work, but its not that simple (at least not for general release) to generate a pkg without some "strange work" from amd it need to go by some steps in

https://github.com/Ashark/archlinux-amdgpu-pro

i'll try to update this today, but fell free to open a PR there :)

I updated the pkgbuild to use the latest version, I also removed the pro vulkan driver dependency from amf as it can be used with radv now, there's no dependency now but I imagine it should be changed to an optional dependency to a list of valid vulkan drivers. https://pastebin.com/raw/WX0tfCrZ

Newer drivers are under the version 6.0.1 folder at https://repo.radeon.com/amdgpu for release 23.40. Amf is also updated to 1.4.33. Flagged OOD for update.

and this is one of the problems that make me tired to maintain that, the people see a new version of the driver and flag this as outdated even if arch cannot work with the last version released by amd, and if the package is flagged as outdated it can be removed, so its a pain to work with amd and with arch with that

but yeah, i`ll not stop for now
