@amish

It's ok, I just reinstall perl and all is well

@amish

After updating to 1.953 have an error on the dashboard - "mount::list_system_info failed : Undefined subroutine &mount::ui_text_color called at /opt/webmin/mount/system_info.pl line 39."

@nel - have you installed perl-authen-pam?

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/perl-authen-pam/

Or have you changed / modified /etc/pam.d/webmin?

nel commented on 2020-06-05 00:27 (UTC)

sudo /etc/webmin/start Starting Webmin server in /opt/webmin IPv6 support cannot be enabled without the Socket6 perl module Using MD5 module Digest::MD5 Using SHA512 module Crypt::SHA PAM test failed - maybe /etc/pam.d/webmin does not exist PAM use is mandatory, but could not be enabled!

Please fix

@box0 - ignore it. ERROR is not coming while installing or running webmin. Error is coming while packaging and seems to be harmless.

I get the following message when installing:

Running postinstall scripts .. ERROR: ld.so: object 'libfakeroot.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (cannot open shared object file): ignored

Then the installation completes normally (apparently). Should I do something about it?

@gameslayer If you think there is bug then please post right PKGBUILD which will resolve the problem that you are insisting upon.

Or please ask your question on AUR forum here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewforum.php?id=38

I've never had to manually install dependencies for a package, that is the job of both pacman and the makepkg file, even AUR helpers do this for you..

amish commented on 2020-03-24 09:53 (UTC)

You are mixing pacman and makepkg. Pacman will install dependencies. Makepkg will not. (unless you use -s option). But then perl-authen-pam and perl-encode-detect are AUR packages, so it will not install it. You will have to install manually.
