Quoting the weechat-matrix-rs GitHub page:

This project is a work in progress and doesn't do much yet. It can connect to a Matrix server and send messages.

This package is intended for people wanting to experiment with the current state of the Rust rewrite, it is not ready for production use. If you are looking for a Matrix plugin for WeeChat, try the stable weechat-matrix Python script in [community] instead.
