Good idea, done.

Maybe the script could be modified to call nproc in order to set the job count?

It should work on pretty much any architecture. But it does not have 'any' specific as architecture, because the built binary will be architecture-specific. I added aarch64, but does it help? I heard other distros ignore the architecture value.

If you have more than 4 cores, you can edit the pkgbuild for using more jobs with scons. And yes, it takes quite some time …

Btw, when a new boost versions is pushed to the repos this will need to be rebuild.

This compiles and runs fine on aarch64, so that could be added as an arch.

But holy hell does it ever take a while to build.

The version of wesnoth which is packaged in Debian 9 and Ubuntu 18.04, offered here mostly for the purpose of watching old replays found in the tactic guides. You can skip installing the checkdependencies by running makepkg --nocheck.
