Don't works with 367.44:
weston --use-egldevice

Fatal: failed to create compositor backendci0000:00/0000:00:09.0/

I finally got it to work. It was because I had sync to Vblank disabled with an environment variable. The setting was this.

__GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=0

After changing it to 1, it works. Awesome! Too bad Wayland doesn't have full OpenGL support or else I could be playing Quake right now. Thank you for making and updating this package aplattner.

I may have found out why I'm black screening. Here is the full weston log. I launched weston with the following command, "weston-launch -- --use-egldevice".

The issue seems to be at the very end of the log with this message:

[09:21:53.767] destroy output while page flip pending

I just tried "weston-launch -- --use-egldevice", and it black screens just like when I used "weston --use-egldevice". I took a picture on my phone of the complete error message when I use "weston-launch" without the "--use-egldevice" command. I'll post it later today. I followed the development forum post so I don't know why it isn't working. I have the latest beta 367 beta driver as well.

For weston-launch, you have to use " -- " to pass extra arguments to the compositor. So you'd run

weston-launch -- --use-egldevice

I'm not sure why you'd get a black screen, though. Can you please upload the complete output of weston-launch and an nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file somewhere?

I still can't get wayland/weston to run with the nvidia propietary drivers. When I execute "weston-launch", I get these errors.

failed to initialize egl
fatal: failed to create compositor backend

When I execute "weston --use-egl-device", I get a black screen. There is no color noise this time, just a black screen.

Actually, rebasing wasn't has hard as I expected. Done.

The patches don't apply cleanly to 1.11, so I'll see if I can get Miguel to rebase them. Otherwise, I'll take a look this week.

I would really like to see if the release of weston 1.11 allows me to use the nvidia propietary dirver with wayland. I would get a screen of color noise when I launched weston with "weston --use-egldevice". Using "weston-launch" doesn't work either. I followed the directions from the nvidia dev post, and it still isn't working.

Did you load nvidia-drm with the "modeset=1" parameter? Please be sure to follow the instructions from Andy's post on the devtalk forum: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/925605/linux/nvidia-364-12-release-vulkan-glvnd-drm-kms-and-eglstreams/
