The current PKGBUILD doesn't build due to HTTP 404 on http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/w/wfview/wfview_2.11-2_amd64.deb I believe also 2.24 is out, though it looks like only 2.23 is available on the Debian server. Also https should be used.

Unfortunately though the new version doesn't work for me as it links against different Qt libs.

Before marking a package as outdated, make sure you are looking at the correct version. there is no 2.12 available for wfview-bin yet.
