AFAIK login manager execute .xsession if it exists. create an .xsession file with the line: exec windowchef

It would be nice if it already included an xsession file so those of us that uses login managers can use it without adding manually. /usr/share/xsessions/windowchef.desktop [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Name=windowchef Comment=A stacking window manager that cooks windows with orders from the Waitron Exec=windowchef Type=Application
