Well I was barking up the wrong tree trying to fix this package. Huulivoide, as a reward for your excellent debugging research, you get to maintain the package now.

Replacing the primemover the ./pm file with never version seems to solve the problem. You may get it from the bin dir of primemowers newest version, google it or use this instead: http://huulivoide.pp.fi/Arch/pm_8bit

This works, using Lua 5.1: http://pastebin.com/QWs6qsDv

Indeed, it should be lua-filesystem, but I got the same error as xganesh.

Maybe it's 'lua-filesystem' instead of 'luafilesystem'? Still, it doesn't build: cache/3-lua.o" "src/c/lua.c" src/c/lua.c: In function 'traceback': src/c/lua.c:36:18: error: 'LUA_GLOBALSINDEX' undeclared (first use in this function) src/c/lua.c:36:18: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in src/c/lua.c: In function 'script_init': src/c/lua.c:78:2: warning: implicit declaration of function 'lua_open' [-Wimplicit-function-declaration] src/c/lua.c:78:4: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast [enabled by default] rm -f ".pm-cache/3-lua.o" pm: object 'cfile', defined at pmfile:198, failed to build with return code 256

Probably.

Why isn't luafilesystem mentioned in the dependencies in the AUR interface? Is it an AUR / PKGBUILD parsing issue wrt to versioned dependencies?
