While I was compiling, I see some error messages. Something like “Can’t translate pathname”. I am also seeing something like ”...zh_CN...”, and then when the installation is finished, the Page size option is in chinese languge. I’ve tried regenerating my locales with zh_CN.UTF-8 UTF-8. Didn’t work. Reinstalled again and Page size selections are still in chinese. Am I missing something here?

@keybreak Well I forgot the quotes again...Thanks for reminding.

@felixonmars Please be careful when adding changes, there was request by me before to avoid build errors when build is done in custom dirs (which can potentially have space), so...
To avoid build errors in such circumstances, please use quotes around paths in PKGBUILD 60-69

@ppc52776 I think I figured it out. The old .install script somehow installed a lot of files under /usr/local, including /usr/local/share/mime. This was fixed in the new version but the old files were left out. Having both versions of the mime info leads to a deadlock and thus broke my system. This was fixed after I cleaned up /usr/local for those wps-office files.

@felixonmars I have this problem too. The mime info of wps-office also causes xlsx/pptx/docx been treat as zip file. My solution is to delete these mime files from /usr/share/mime/packages/wps-office-*.xml and regenerate mime cache.

I got a problem with the new version: mime info included in the new version contains several aliases, which introduces a lot of crashes for me. Not sure if anyone else got this as well.
For example, when browsering any folder with a .xls file, dolphin/dde-file-manager will deadlock and eat a lot of RAM until OOM killed; nautilus/caja will segfault immediately (the backtrace shows tens of thousands levels of the same address in libgio.so). This can be resolved by removing the "<alias type="application/msexcel"/>" line from /usr/share/mime/packages/wps-office-et.xml and regenerate the mime cache.
I have checked that mime info in the old version (11.1.0.8392) doesn't contain the offending aliases. Hopefully someone else can confirm this and make it into a workaround or resolved upstream.

@exaos Please read the pinned comments. There is a solution for the running wpsoffice process on the background.

I have to uninstall this package. I will never try it again. Its malware behavior begins under Linux system now: 1. it will force change your PDF reader to WPS PDF. 2. it will keep its process background without knowing what it will do.

The latest version of wps-office just prevent nautilus from generating thumbnails for PDF documents. To fix it, just delete /usr/share/mime/packages/wps-office-pdf.xml
and run update-mime-database /usr/share/mime
.

Anyone who meet the problem of launching wpspdf, please install the optional dependency libtiff5

If you have the "ERROR: One or more files failed the validity check!" problem, try cleaning your AUR cache first, and try again.

[ATTENTION] The new international version (11.1.0.9080) removed zh_CN support, login, and some other functions. If you still want full functions, or you want aarch64 support, you may need the Chinese version from https://linux.wps.cn here: https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/wps-office-cn

I split the
/usr/share/mime/packages/wps-office-*.xml
files to thewps-office-mime
package to avoid mime issues. If you still want the mime files provided by wps-office itself, you can install the new mime package.Universebenzene commented on 2019-07-05 17:08 (UTC)
There is no official 32-bit package for version 11.1.0.8722, so I drop the support for i686 arch. For archlinux32 users you can create another wps-office package for 32-bit system yourself.

When you shut down wps-office, the wpsoffice process may still exist. You can do
sudo chmod -x /usr/lib/office6/wpsoffice
to fix it. But this might bring you problem with signing in.oowl commented on 2017-11-29 14:16 (UTC)
