Write rSCRIBBLE_REV_NUMBER
nvg2: GL vector texture renderer (32 x 32)
Segmentation fault         (core dumped) write_stylus

Got this error when trying to launch, I couldn't find out if this is an Xorg only application but installing xwayland didn't change anything

@wild_penguin following up on this as it seems to have been addressed in sdl and sdl2-compat as per upstream and the sdl2-compat devs https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/sdl2-compat/-/issues/1 ... https://github.com/libsdl-org/sdl2-compat/issues/274

if you're still using this package, can you let me know if the issues are resolved?

thanks for the report and investigation @Wild_Penguin - Unfortunately even though I explicitly request SDL2 here, it's provided by and replaced by Arch's upstream sdl12-compat. Based on https://github.com/libsdl-org/sdl2-compat/issues/255#issuecomment-2624668819 this should likely (hopefully) be sorted relatively soon.

Currently broken, seems like because of sdl2-compat a bug in SDL3.

See https://github.com/styluslabs/Write/issues/9 and https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/sdl2-compat/-/issues/1

this is now converted to a source based package as required by AUR guidelines please report any urgent issues by flagging out of date, or comment if it's minor

Hi, there's a new package that fix a bug that made Write crash. If you could update it.

The last package is on http://styluslabs.com/write/write-latest.tar.gz

Packages should not install anything to /usr/local, that is reserved for the system administrator. Applications that don't fit into the standard filesystem hierarchy should either go into /opt or be massaged to fit under /usr/lib with a launcher script in /usr/bin.

This package installes a precompiled binary -- so it should be named write_stylus-bin (i.e. with -bin suffix).

Can you please rename your package? (i.e. upload new and submit merge request to the old).

Note, to not forget to add

provides=("write_stylus=${pkgver}")
conflicts=("write_stylus")

to write_stylus-bin.

Thanks for maintaining!, and by the way:

I get a segmentation fault when I want to open the advanced settings.
