For anyone interested, this should now be fixed and building in a clean chroot. Let me know if there are problems.
Building takes a long time. So patience is needed. If something breaks at the package stage, please use the --repackage flag while you try to figure out what went wrong.
Note: I don't use this package. I adopted it just to update and fix it. So if someone who does use this wants to comaintain, possibly take over, please let me know.
@mavieth the pkgbuild is already orphan you can adopt and update
Please update the PKGBUILD to include the git submodule fix from here

The submodule update command should include the following option
git -c protocol.file.allow=always submodule update
All these wx things are basically broken. Some needs a newer version, some needs the old one. A long chain of dependency made it impossible to even switch from old to new or new to old, without uninstalling nearly the OS

After more than twenty minutes compiling in a gaming computer I killed the installation. Never ends!!
