Due to xbmc changes (only svn version) external skin packages are no longer needed.

Added /opt/xbmc/skin/Rapier directory as symlink to /usr/share/xbmc/addons/skin.rapier.
This skin should also work with the default arch package from community.

I'm afraid I don't really have the time to figure out what's needed to get this working though. :-/
Let's hope someone who does can take it over, I really like this skin, but I've moved on to Transparency for the time being.

@vEX
BTW, I'm going to disown all other skins I maintain, because they do not work with the svn version and I don't use them anyway.
So if you're interested leave a comment or send me a mail.

Hey vEX, are you interested in maintaining this package?
I mean you're doing the main work :)

With the latest SVN-versions (using 30696) the description.xml has been merged into addon.xml: http://pastie.org/private/nedg4ygrxdn0080pwk3og
Though there seems to be more though it to get the skin working.

With newer SVN-builds (I'm using 29930 atm) an addon.xml is also needed: http://pastie.org/private/wjeagg5v1bs9ytnxdpxow

Also, I filled out the description.xml a bit more detailed: http://pastie.org/private/pwhlsbfllbayzx63pboya

If you add a picture called "icon.png" the preview will also work. I took one from the xbmc site (http://xbmc.org/skins/rapier/) and resized it, ready to be used.

It was as easy as I thought, add a description.xml (copy the one from confluence and modify it) and it will pop up in the list. There should also be a screenshot (the two official ones have one but I didn't bother with that now).

At xbmc-svn 29756-1 and now it doesn't work. :-/
Will take a stab at it tomorrow and see if I can get it to work.

* added a symlink to skin/Rapier. Should work now with 9.10.

Just checked, I'm at xbmc-svn 29498-1 but I'm building a new version now. Though I need to fetch the complete SVN-tree so it'll take a while.

It is working for me, but I'm not completely up to date with trunk, I believe I'm at 27600-something. Will update and see if it still works or not.

@ delmonico:
I'd rather write a mail to the community xbmc maintainer.
I do not understand why xmbc is put into /opt anyway.
@vEX & all:
Is this skin working for you with the addons layout?
For me it doesn't.

vEX, I see your point. We could make it work with stable *and* -svn by creating a symlink in the .install script.

Is this skin (or any other) working with the new xbmc dir layout?
I've moved it to addons dir, but here it does not work, ie I cannot choose it in the appearence menu.
Comment by vEX
Then I'll vote for keeping it as is this works with xbmc-svn (which uses /usr/share). I'd argue the xbmc package should also use /usr/share instead of /opt.

Please fix PKGBUILD to use /opt/xbmc/skin so it works with the current xbmc package.
