I can reproduce it, and I reported it upstream: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues/690
A similar issue (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/254) appears to have been corrected in mutter 3.30.0 (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/commit/e741adb82e18fff557cb95185756f56ca7afcf3d) but it is still affecting me with 3.30.1.

Some symbolic links missed, so when i drag an icon from panel on gnome shell, it crashes
