To ignore the
curl SSL error
(for now) add the following line on top inPKGBUILD

Hmm, that is a problem. Or rather, yet another problem with opendesktop/pling. I'm researching for ways to overcome it.

This still doesn't work, here's the error I was talking about earlier:

I appreciate the effort, but the file you point to is an old version (0.5) from 2018. It is not the latest. What you ask cannot be done.

When I tried building this package I got some errors with curl about the certificate. After some troubleshooting on irc here are some steps
Clone the above repo
Get these two files and replace the original patch file with the one here as well as the PKGBUILD: https://gist.github.com/cuppajoeman/ff3d606ce776b6802c925f3d3842fd0a
Then run updpkgsums in the same directory and build the package. Now follow the steps on the custom cursor wiki page. And restart X, you should now have the cursor.

Ah, yes, I've done that too. But you don't need to mess with the system file, you can just make an ~/.icons/default/index.theme like that.

I do not know what the problem would be, I deleted the cache, I had to modify the /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme that comes by default Adwaita by thedot, and it worked : - /
